About CACC
Since 1971, Crispus Attucks Children’s Center has supported children and families across Boston with nurturing care and joyful learning.
Our educators focus on the whole child, supporting social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through play, exploration, and strong relationships.
We believe children thrive when families and educators work together in partnership.
Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, CACC proudly hosts the Boston Public Schools Boston Pre-K program.
Our History and Namesake
Our history traces to 1967 when we were established to provide childcare for the employees of AVCO Company. When AVCO left Roxbury in 1971, community members took over the childcare center and formed a non-profit organization. CACC is located in the heart of Boston's Roxbury and Dorchester neighborhoods on a beautiful 2.5-acre campus and is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care.
We are named in honor of patriot and freed slave Crispus Attucks. A whaler and sailor, Crispus Attucks is widely recognized as the first casualty of the Boston Massacre and the first American to die in the struggle for liberty. A man of African and Native American heritage, Attucks represents courage, justice, and the ongoing fight for freedom.
We work alongside families to nurture and educate our youngest learners
in a safe, welcoming environment rooted in community and care.
